Alicia Campbell Attorney at Law
Juris Doctorate, St. Louis University Bachelor of Arts, Concordia University
Alicia Campbell attended Concordia University at Austin on an athletic scholarhship for volleyball and softball. While at Concordia, Alicia majored in secondary education and was elected to Concordia's student government. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with an emphasis in English. She spent the next several years teaching English to junior high and high school students and coaching basketball and softball. While teaching in the inner city of San Antonio, Alicia witnessed first-hand the problems that come with poverty and a lack of access to education. It was due to her experiences in San Antonio that Alicia decided to become an attorney.
She moved to St. Louis and was accepted at Saint Louis University School of Law. While attending law school, she interned for Legal Services of Eastern Missouri, worked for a local law firm, taught homebound classes to students who could not attend high school, and earned certificates in Employment Law and International Law.
After law school, Alicia joined Gateway Legal Services. Gateway gives Alicia the opportunity to address many of the concerns that sent her to law school in the beginning. She spends much of her time helping those with disabilities obtain benefits necessary to provide for daily needs. She also works on consumer cases ranging from payday loan cases to defending those who have been victims of the mortgage fraud crisis.
Alicia is the co-author of “Combatting Consumer Arbitration Clauses” published by the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys in 2007, and was the primary author of a recent amicus curiae brief submitted to the Missouri Supreme Court on behalf of Gateway, the National Consumer Law Center, and the National Association of Consumer Advocates in the case of Huch v. Charter Communications. Alicia volunteers in her community, presenting at Central High School, attending St. Louis Public School Board meetings, and speaking at various community centers and area clinics.
Alicia is a member of the American Bar Association, the Metropolitan Bar of St. Louis, the National Association of Consumer Advocates and the Missouri Bar. She is admitted to practice in Missouri as well as the Eastern and Western District Federal Courts of Missouri. |
